Couch to 5K

Well it has officially begun...I say that because I've paid an entry fee for the St. Jude 5K race in December. Anna Mary and I both started this program (couch to 5K) a couple of weeks ago and are DETERMINED to DO IT!!
I started it this summer, but had no one to 'report' to so it was easy to just become sedentary again. Now...it's blue jean season and to be perfectly honest-none of mine fit so well, so HERE WE GO.
The program begins with 3 days a week for the first week begin with a brisk 5 minute walk followed by intervals of jogging for 60 seconds and walking for 90 seconds for a total of 20 minutes. Each week the jogging time increases until you eventually can run the 3.1 miles of a 5K with no problem.
Here we both hope to use this blog as a 'tool' as well as just to express any aggrivation or elation that we may feel while our training progresses.
